Mr. Peter Jamieson RCC MHK MACP (RCC#22341)
Peter holds a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University as well as a Master’s in Human Kinetics (Coaching Science) from UBC.
Prior to his counselling career, Peter spent several decades working as a high-performance sport coach and highschool teacher. His work focuses on supporting people who experience challenges like trauma, depression, anxiety and stress, helping them navigate complex emotions, rebuild connections, and reclaim their sense of agency. Peter is foundationally a Humanist and takes a client-centred approach, working collaboratively with individuals to address the challenges they face while recognizing the unique pressures and societal expectations they often encounter.
He prefers to use a structured but eclectic process, integrating several schools of thought, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, with an emphasis on exploring the stories people tell about their lives and creating space for transformation.
When not in session or working at his school, Peter is an avid outdoorsman and spends time in the mountains fishing, hiking and running. He is also passionate about exploring philosophy, staying curious about new therapeutic approaches, and contributing to conversations about mental health, especially men’s issues. Peter’s deep appreciation for growth and connection drives his commitment to helping clients move forward with clarity and confidence.
